Kresha Bajaj Zaveri is a fashion designer and bride, who made a stunning and rather innovative lehenga for her own wedding, by embroidering milestones of her love story with her husband, leading up to their wedding day.

Knowing she would only wear the lehenga once, she wanted to make it a piece of art, which she would frame after the wedding.

She used traditional embroidery techniques to stitch on elements like her proposal onto the garment, to make it a real statement piece.

She even included her and her husband’s name in disguise onto the panels of the garment.

Bajaj managed to mix traditional with edgy in what she called the perfect ensemble for her, which would embody her brand Koesch as well.

For my wedding, I decided to design all my outfits under my brand @koecsh which I was very excited and comfortable doing as I wear super edgy stuff that isn't usually what I am able to find. For the pheras, I felt a bit challenged because I don’t like not being able to use the same garment multiple times in multiple ways for multiple occasions. As I knew my Wedding lehenga would be something I would only wear once, I decided to make it a piece of artwork that I would later frame. In order to make it into a special piece of art I decided to embroider my entire lehenga with Vanraj & my story - our milestones, the proposal, and all our important moments up until the wedding. I used traditional embroidery techniques and materials, and all around the lehenga you will see hidden elements sewn into the garment. Our names are embroidered into the garments, pictures of our story framed with embroidery and finished with a hem of jumping dolphins, which was the beginning of our story as we worked together on a protest against cetacean captivity. Adding the perfect topper to the wedding cake, Kresha got to wear jewelry that was designed by her husband to complement her lehenga perfectly.
