Love him or hate him, you just can’t escape him! A Yo Yo Honey Singh track is now an inevitable part of almost every Bollywood film, in fact the singer is rumoured to be signed on even before the cast of a film is finalised!
The man who was under attack a couple of years back for his misogynistic lyrics, soon reinvented his image and carved a place for himself on every Bollywood soundtrack, be it SRK’s Chennai Express or Saif Ali Khan’s Cocktail.
After being out of action since November due to an illness (there were also rumours about him being in rehab), the rapper is back with his latest number Birthday Bash for an upcoming film titled Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend.
The film’s publicity despite a round of media interviews recently has been very thanda. But enter Yo Yo Honey Singh and his song starts trending on social networks, thus finally giving the film a much needed buzz.
Sample some lyrics from Honey Singh’s new song Birthday Bash:
“O baby, O baby! Ek baat to bata, tere baare mein suni hai ek afwaah. Happy birthday saal mein tu chaar baar manati hai, apna ek na kharche, kharcha laundon ka karwati hai...itna kharcha karke bhi tu nakhre dikhaati hai. Mood tu banaati hai fir thoda lalchaati hai. Raat hote hi tu jake apne ghar so jaati hai.”
Even if Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend bombs at the box-office, you can rest assured that the Honey Singh track might still rule the air waves. Check out some of the rapper’s songs that have been chartbusters despite the film itself turning out to be a dud:
