Sanitation Brand Ambassador Vidya Donates Money To Build Toilets

Vidya Balan donates money that she was awarded for excellence in cinema to building of toilets in rural India.

Vidya Balan was recently awarded the Woman Icon of the Year Award and Rs. 5 lakh for her contribution to Indian cinema at an event. And the actress who is the brand ambassador for national sanitation in India donated the amount to charity for building of toilets in the country.

A source at the event revealed that the actress requested the organisers of the event to donate the amount to Swades Foundation which channels their resources to building toilets in rural India.

Vidya has been actively involved in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. She wanted to contribute towards building toilets in the country. The team of the Swades Foundation was surprised when they received a cheque worth Rs 5 lakh.
