Roadies Xtreme is back with Season 16 and we got a chance to get in on some of the behind-the-scenes action with the team. Freezing temperatures, dense fog, living in tents, rain and not to forget the intense tasks - I got a a taste of just what all the Roadies have to go through, during my short stay in Shillong. We visited the Roadies Xtreme gang - Neha Dhupia, Rannvijay Singha, Nikhil Chinapa, Prince Narula and Raftar on their shoot location, which is four thousand feet above sea level.

The weather was so unpredictable that even the crew didn’t know when and how they would start shooting. They would wait hours and hours for the fog to move away and then before it’s back again (which was basically every 5 mins), they would try to shoot as much as they could. There was a point when the gang leaders and the contestants were performing a task and the fog came in, making visibility close to zero!

That is when I realised how easy it is for us to sit in our living room watching the show, but one cannot even imagine the tough conditions that the Roadies are actually put through. And by ‘they’, I don’t even mean the four gang leaders, twenty contestants and one host. I mean all those hundred people working behind the scenes to make this show what it is today. From drivers, spot boys, stylists, production team, cooks, camerapersons, photographers and so many more people.

All I can say is, they make it look easy on screen but the real story is hundreds of people who are working really hard, and in difficult conditions to get you all the entertainment.

We caught up with the gang leaders after they wrapped up their shoot post sunset and they shared some of their scariest, most emotional and fun Roadies moments.
