Dance reality show Nach Baliye returns for a ninth season on 19 July. The show will be produced by Salman Khan Productions and hosted by Bhai’s Bharat co-star Sunil Grover and Jennifer Winget. This time, the show will not only feature couples but also reunite exes.
Here’s a look at the contestants for this season of Nach Baliye:
1. Urvashi Dholakia and Anuj Sachdeva
Komolika from Kasauti Zindagii Kay will shake a leg with ex beau, actor Anuj Sachdeva. While the two never confirmed their relationship, they were rumoured to have got together in 2011. The couple will reportedly have a grand dance sequence in the opening episode.
2. Anita Hassanandani and Rohit Reddy
Naagin 3 actor Anita Hassanandani and husband Rohit Reddy are sure to use their adorable real-life chemistry to earn some brownie points with the judges.
3. Faisal Khan and Muskaan Kataria
20-year-old dancer and actor Faisal Khan, who won Jhalak Dhikhhla Jaa in 2015, will join his model girlfriend Muskaan Kataria on the dance floor on Nach Baliye 9. The two reportedly met at an event in Jodhpur last year.
4. Geeta Phogat and Pawan Kumar
Wrestler Geeta Phogat, who won India’s first gold medal for wrestling at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, will put her best foot forward with her husband Pawan Singh Kumar. The couple wed in 2016. This isn’t Geeta’s first reality TV appearance. She was also part of Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2017.
5. Sourabh Raj Jain and Riddhima Jain
Actor Sourabh Raj Jain and his wife Riddhima will be part of Nach Baliye 9. The actor and model is best known for playing Krishna in the Mahabharat on Star Plus.
6. Shantanu Maheshwari and Nityaami Shirke
Shantanu Maheshwari and his rumoured partner Nityaami Shirke are set to give the other contestants tough competition. Maheshwari is a trained dancer and has been part of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9 and Khatron Ke Khiladi 8. He also appeared on season 2 of international reality show World of Dance.
7. Vindu Dara Singh and Dina Umarova
Bigg Boss 3 winner Vindu Dara Singh returns to reality television with his wife Dina Umarova who is a trained dancer.
8. Rochelle Rao and Keith Sequeira
Newly weds Rochelle Rao and Keith Sequeira are set to win the audience (and hopefully the judges too) over in season 9 of Nach Baliye. Rochelle is a model and anchor who has appeared on Bigg Boss 9 and The Kapil Sharma Show.
9. Vishal Aditya Singh and Madhurima Tuli
Vishal Aditya Singh and ex flame Madhurima Tuli are part of the Nach Baliye 9 line-up. The two met on the sets of Chandrakanta - Ek Mayavi Prem Gaatha in 2017. They finally ended their on-again-off-again relationship in October last year.
10. Shraddha Arya and Alam Makkar
Television actor Shraddha Arya is best known for playing Preeta in Ekta Kapoor soap Kundali Bhagya. She will join the show with Alam Makkar, who is a businessman from Jalandhar.
