The power couple - Ajay Devgn and Kajol make their first ever appearance on a talk show together after 19 years of marriage and we love that Koffee with Karan is the place they decide to make their debut couple appearance! Karan discusses his relationship with Kajol, their downfall, Kajol and Ajay as parents, their family dynamic and their inability to be social with the rest of Bollywood.

1. Karan Makes An Effort With Ajay
Karan is one of Kajol’s closest friends, however Kajol’s husband, Ajay and he have never shared a warm relationship. While addressing that, Karan decides to extend his hand and ask Ajay if he would like to be friends with him. Kajol interrupts their moment by confessing that she does not want them to be friends because Karan was her friend and did not have to be Ajay’s too. She says,
“I don’t want you to become his (Ajay’s) friend, you are my friend!”Kajol
2. Karan And Kajol’s Downfall
Karan and Kajol have been friends ever since their childhood and were known to be the closest friends in the film fraternity in the 90s. However, they had a downfall in 2016 when Karan’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay’s directorial Shivaay was releasing on the same weekend. The two fell apart, when Kajol sided with her husband. Karan even wrote a chapter in his book “An Unsuitable Boy” about how he could never be friends with Kajol again.
The two share stories about the time they were fighting and how hard it was for them to avoid each other. They got emotional on how much they missed each other during that period of time.
3. Kajol Is Extremely Low Maintenance
The couple discuss their relationship and Ajay Devgn talks about how his wife is extremely “low maintenance”. Karan takes a dig at Kajol and asks her why she chooses to shop at Santa Cruz market when she can afford the best designer wear. Karan even talks about a time when he tried to gift her a Louis Vuitton bag, but she kept asking him questions like “Is there a front zip?” “Is there a back zip?’ which irritated Karan. To this, she responds saying that she prefers comfort and does not care too much about branded clothing. She says

4. Kajol Gives Ajay A Death Stare
During the rapid fire round, Karan Johar asked Ajay which actor from the current generation Ajay would pair up opposite Kajol, he asked, “As a son?” Kajol ends up abusing her husband on national television!
5. Ajay Strikes Again
Ajay Devgn was pretty savage in his rapid fire round as his answers were ‘rapid and full of fire’. Ajay’s answer to this question, probably should win the line of the season and the audi. Karan asks him “One lie that every actor from the film fraternity tells?”, he replies saying “I love my wife”. Watch a snippet here:
6. Kajol Is An Old Soul
Karan and Ajay talk about how Kajol is a 60-year-old woman on the inside. She even reveals that one of her favorite parties was Karan Johar’s mother, Hiroo Johar’s 75th birthday party. She was one of the last people to leave the party and danced, talked and hung out with all the older guests at the party.

During the rapid fire round, Ajay Devgn said that he thought all of Karan Johar’s films that started with the letter “K” do well but when they made Kaal it flopped. Further, Karan asked Kajol to pick between My name is Khan (which is Karan’s film) and Fanaa. She picked Fanaa without hesitating which mildly offended Karan!
Kajol was thinking the same thing we were!
