Can You Make It Through the Month on Kapil Sharma’s First Salary?
Comedian Kapil Sharma may have been on the Forbes India Celebrity 100 list for six years running, occupying the 18th spot on the list in 2017 with an annual earning of Rs 48 crore, but it’s been a long road to becoming one of the highest paid tv artistes in India. In a recent episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, the comedian revealed to guests Sonakshi Sinha and Badshah that his first paycheque was Rs 1,500.
Way before he was a household name, Kapil Sharma used to work at a mill that used to print on fabric. Archana Puran Singh cheekily pointed out to Kapil that now he is printing notes. Badshah also joined in the discussion and said that he earned Rs 300 for his first rap.
The Kapil Sharma Show had been briefly taken off the air in 2018 after the actor was plagued by controversy. The show was relaunched at the end of last year and has been registering high on the TRPs in its new avatar.
Besides hosting The Kapil Sharma Show, Kapil Sharma is also lending his voice to the character of Red in the Hindi version of the upcoming animated sequel The Angry Birds Movie 2 along with Kiku Sharda and Archana Puran Singh.
