There’s excitement in the air with the news of Gossip Girl set to make a comeback. The popular teen drama gears up for a reboot on HBO Max, after 7 years of it being last aired. Everyone who watched the show can’t wait for S and B to return and bring to us the world of Upper East.

The original series starred Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley and British actor Ed Westwick, with Kristen Bell being the voice of the gossip girl narrating the show. "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl," HBO Max said in a statement. 10 hour-long episodes will mark the show’s return featuring a brand-new cast of teens enjoying their privileged lives on New York City's Upper East Side.

Now that we’ll witness Gossip Girl’s reboot, we also have some other favorite teen drama shows that we would love to make a comeback on screen. Here’s a list of the 5 shows we’d want a remake of.

1. One Tree Hill

The show premiered in 2003 and continued its successful run for nine years, till the final episode aired in 2012. Set in the fictional town of Tree Hill, the series followed the lives of half-brothers, played by Chad Michael Murray and James Lafferty, who compete for positions on their school's basketball team, and the drama that ensues from their romances. The two main themes the show revolved around were romance and basketball, which formed the core aspect of it. The other parts of One Tree Hill, much like other teen dramas were friendship, betrayal and rivalries.

2. Awkward

Running for 5 seasons, MTV’s Awkward was a different take on teen lives in high school. Revolving around Jenna Hamilton, played by Ashley Rickards, the comedy-drama series followed her life as she struggled with her identity especially after an accident which seemed like a suicide attempt. Last aired in 2016, the show even earned a Teen Choice Award and a People’s Choice Award. The show focused more on the realities of female teenage experience which was relatively new at that time, but eventually lost the plot with fake pregnancy storylines and what not. We would love for it to be renewed and back on the original track.

3. 90210

Often called the mother of all teen dramas, we can vouch for everyone when we say this show is missed. The first series in the franchise, Beverly Hills 90210, started in 1990 and ran till 2000, post which it was renewed for more seasons. It followed the lives of a group of friends living in the upscale of Beverly Hills, California, as they transition from high school to college. "90210" refers to one of the city's five ZIP codes. The fourth season, titled 90210, gained the most popularity as it also encompassed topics like date rape, homophobia, alcoholism, drug abuse, teenage suicide, AIDS, etc.

4. Glee

Airing on Fox TV from 2009 to 2015, Glee was a musical comedy-drama series focusing on the fictional school ‘William McKinley High School’ and its Glee Club, the New Directions, which competes on the show choir competition circuit while its members deal with issues regarding sexuality, race, relationships, and teamwork. Glee was first conceived as a film, but then it was conceptualized for the TV and we are so thankful for that, since we got so many years of the show! The series even went on to win a Golden Globe and an Emmy and we really hope we get to see more of it.

5. Vampire Diaries

One of the longest running teen dramas, Vampire Diaries had a massive fan following and we bet, it still does! The supernatural teen show revolved around Nina Dobrev’s character, a teenage girl in the fictional town of Mystic Falls in Virginia, as she falls in love with a vampire, played by Paul Wesley. More twists and turns come into play as more characters enter the show, leaving the audience wanting for more. In 2013, CW network announced a spin-off of the show, The Originals, which ran till 2018. However, we still want the original series back to satisfy our cravings for one of the best shows ever.
