TV actor Dipika Kakar was voted the winner on Bigg Boss 12 on Sunday night. The popular reality show hosted by Salman Khan on Colors TV came to an end on 30 December after a 105 day run. Dipika won Rs 50 lakhs in cash besides the Bigg Boss winner’s trophy.
There were five finalists vying for the winner’s position on Bigg Boss season 12 on Sunday night. Sreesanth, Dipika Kakar, Romil Chaudhary, Deepak Thakur and Karanvir Bohra were the lucky finalists who made it to the grand finale this year. Of the five finalists, Karanvir Bohra was the first to exit the reality show having gathered the least votes. After Karanvir’s exit, filmmaker Rohit Shetty came on the show to announce the name of the second housemate who would leave the show - and that happened to be Romil Chaudhary.
Then between the three finalists - Sreesanth, Dipika and Deepak Thakur, when given an option by Bigg Boss to leave the house voluntarily with Rs 20 lakhs - Deepak Thakur opted to exit the house with the money. Leaving the winner’s position to a fight between Dipika and Sreesanth.
Finally, Salman Khan called both Sreesanth and Dipika out of the Bigg Boss house and announced Dipika as the winner of Bigg Boss season 12. Dipika is the 6th woman to have won the Bigg Boss winner’s title. The other female winners of the reality show before Dipika have been - Shweta Tiwari, Juhi Parmar, Urvashi Dholakia, Gauhar Khan and Shilpa Shinde.
