Comedy Classes actor Siddharth Sagar, who had been missing for months, has resurfaced to share a tale of harassment by family and battling addiction. Siddharth, famous for his Selfie Mausi act, took to share a cryptic video on Facebook and followed it up with a press conference.
According to Indian Express, Siddharth Sagar shared how after a long spate of family troubles had left him feeling depressed and disoriented, he sought his parents’ help. It was then that he discovered that he was being administered drugs for bipolar disorder, which he does not suffer from. He lived with his mother, who had separated from his father 20 years back, and her friend Suyash Gadgil.
“When I told my parents about it (feeling depressed and disoriented), they said that they have put me on medicines for bipolar disease. I was shell-shocked when I heard it. I know about bipolar and I didn’t have any of the symptoms and here my parents were giving me drugs by mixing it in my food.”Siddharth Sagar
The actor says this was followed by drug abuse and a traumatic period in a rehabilitation centre where he was beaten up. Even when he came out of the place, incessant fights at home forced him to file a NC against his mother and Gadgil.
“This was also the time I had filed a NC against them for I really feared for my life and well-being. It came true when I was picked up while traveling back from Goa and thrown into a mental asylum where I was tortured and treated for ailments I didn’t even have. But since it was turning out to be an expensive treatment, my mother decided to shift me to Asha Ki Kiran, a rehabilitation centre that did not bother much about finance.”
Asha Ki Kiran turned out to be a blessing for Siddharth and the team there helped and supported his recovery. He also said he is looking for work again as well as some legal counsel as Gadgil is cheating him of his rightful property.
