Bigg Boss, one of the most watched reality shows in India, is making a return to the small screen on October 1 with its season 11. The show has been running successfully for 10 years now and each season has been characterised by celebrities, jaw-dropping “tasks”, drama and loads of masala.
With Bigg Boss 11 just around the corner, let us take a look at the previous winners and what they are doing now.
Rahul Roy
Rahul Roy, actor, producer and a former model, made his name in Bollywood with the blockbuster movie Aashiqui. He was the winner of Bigg Boss Season 1, hosted by Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi. In the house with drama queens like Rakhi Sawant, Rahul’s calm and composed demeanour wooed the audience making him the first ever winner. He is now a producer.
Aashutosh Kaushik
Aashutosh Kaushik won the second season of Bigg Boss in the year 2008. Aashutosh is a model-turned-actor, who won a huge fan following when he participated in Hero Honda Roadies Season 8 on MTV. He now acts in films and was seen last in Chal Jaa Bapu (2016).
Vindu Dara Singh
Vindu Dara Singh won the third season of Bigg Boss in 2009. After winning the big game, he did small roles in movies like Housefull and Son of Sardar, and other shows on the small screen. In 2013, Vindu suffered a big blow when he was caught in the IPL betting scandal. He later worked in films including Jatt James, Famous Ho Gya etc and is now part of a Hindi play Hello Darling.
Shweta Tiwari
Season 4 of Bigg Boss took a turn when it got its first female winner, TV actor Shweta Tiwari. After winning Bigg Boss, Shweta participated in a dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. She got married to boyfriend Abhinav Kohli, and is now currently on a break from her career, focusing on her baby.
Juhi Parmar
TV actor and anchor Juhi Parmar won the Season 5 of Bigg Boss. Juhi gained popularity for her role in Kumkum- Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan. She did not take up any projects after winning Bigg Boss in 2011, as she wanted to spend more time with her family. According to a Times of India report, she is now headed to end an 8-year-old marriage with the TV actor Sachin Shroff.
Urvashi Dholakia
Urvashi Dhoklakia, better known by the name Kamolika from her TV serial Kasautii Zindagii Kay, won the Season 6 of Bigg Boss, hosted by actor Salman Khan. After winning Bigg Boss she took a break from the industry. Urvashi is currently playing the role of Queen Iravati in a television series Chandrakanta.
Gauahar Khan
Actor Gauahar Khan won the Season 7 of Bigg Boss in the year 2013. She has been acting in films like Ishaqzaade and Begum Jaan. Recently Gauahar has been featured in a new Punjabi song, Bewafaai by B-Praak.
Gautam Gulati
Gautam Gulati won the Season 8 of Bigg Boss in 2014. After his win, the Diya Aur Baati Hum actor moved to Bollywood with Azhar. Gautam also played a role opposite Rajkummar Rao and Shruti Hassan in the film Behen Hogi Teri.
Prince Narula
Prince Narula was the winner of Bigg Boss Season 9. Before making his way to Bigg Boss, Prince already won Roadies Season X2 and Splitsvilla Season 8. After Bigg Boss, Prince made his debut in TV Series Bado Bahu. He is also a part of the show Squadrann with Ranvijay Singh.
Manveer Gurjar
Manveer Gurjar won the season 10 of Bigg Boss. He entered the house as a common man as the theme of the show was aam aadmi vs celebrities. He won the support of both the masses and the celebs which helped him win the show. Manveer then participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi season 8.
