Shah Rukh Khan is busy promoting Raees before its 25 January release and we got talking to him about his gangster thriller and the life of a superstar.

Q: How do you prep for roles like Don, and now Raees?

Shah Rukh Khan: Don is slick, smart, sexy. It’s kind of unrealistic. Like James Bond gone rogue, like a bad James Bond, but in the end you’re rooting for him, hoping he gets away.

Raees is very reality based. My preparation involved a lot of research about bootlegging that happened during ‘85 - ’95. The story, though not rural, is earthy.

Don is very urban based, private planes, jets. But this one is on cycles and motorcycles and involves reality based events. The dialogues weren’t written for style. They were written for substance. This how people speak in that part of the world.

The Sultan of acquittal is back!

On Wednesday, The Jodhpur Court gave Salman Khan the benefit of doubt and held him ‘not guilty’ in the 1998 Arms Act. The court shot down the sentence, just like the Blackbuck, which allegedly was not shot by bhai.

Salman soon shared the good news with his fans on social media and thanked each and everyone for their support.

But we thought this message seemed too plain for our Bhaijaan’s personality. So we, at The Quint, decided to make a Dabangg Facebook page for our star and had some fun with it.

If you’re a #BhaiBhakt , it’s best you don’t read the post any further.

Mahira Khan is reportedly quite bummed out about not being able to join the promotional activity around Raees, thanks to India’s ban on Pakistani artists. The actress apparently told Express Tribune in an interview that she’s sad and disappointed because she put in a lot of effort into the Shah Rukh Khan starrer.

Of course, I feel bad. When you put so much effort and hard work in a project, you wish to see the results. I work with same dedication and zeal in all my projects, but Raees is very special.
Mahira Khan, Actress

The Shah Rukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan gangster thriller releases in theatres on 25 January.
