Tamil superstar Vijay’s real life daughter, Divya Sasha will be seen playing a special cameo in the actor’s upcoming cop flick, Theri.
“The whole film is about the life of an upright police officer and Vijay will be sporting different looks, ranging from the age of 25 to 45. For major portions of the film, a five year old girl called Nainika (actress Meena’s daughter) plays Vijay’s daughter while Divya will be only seen in the climax, where Vijay gets older,” a source from the film’s unit said.
Recently, the film’s director Atlee shot the climax sequence with Vijay, Amy Jackson and Divya in Ladakh. In Theri, Amy Jackson plays a role of a teacher hailing from Kerala while Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen as Vijay’s wife.
As Divya is11-years-old, Atlee felt that she will be perfect for the grown up portions and also the director felt that the casting will help in the emotional bond in the climax. It is rather interesting to note that in Vijay’s 2009 Tamil film Vettaikaran, the actor’s son Sanjay played a special cameo for a song.
Originally planned to be wrapped up in 140 days, the team has actually completed the film in 135 days and they are targeting to release the film on April 14, Tamil New Year day. AR Rahman’s nephew GV Prakash Kumar is the music composer and plans are on for a grand audio launch as it marks the composer’s 50th album.
