On Homeland, Saul Berenson is the ultimate spymaster and a ruthless CIA man. But it seems that Mandy Patinkin, the actor who plays the role is the exact opposite in real life.
In an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Patinkin acknowledged that he is the exact opposite of the inscrutable Saul.
So what has he learnt from the character he plays?
In answering the question, Patinkin showed exactly how different he is from the character he plays, but no less endearing. He launched into a monologue about the need to stop the politics of fear (a thinly veiled reference to Donald Trump) and the need to build hospitals and schools in West Asia, rather than more violence in the conflict zone.
He also spoke about how he is working with Syrian refugees.
