It seems the effects of Salman Khan’s “rape” comment would have a far-reaching effect on the star’s already wobbly public image. According to reports, Salman is on the verge of being relieved of the post of India’s goodwill ambassador for the Olympics by the Indian Olympic Associatin (IOA).
According to Gulf News, IOA sources have revealed that the body is deliberting over dropping Salman Khan from the post if he doesn’t issue an immediate “public apology”.
The IOA’s joint secretary and India’s chef-de-mission for the Rio Games, Rakesh Gupta, said that, “his comments as goodwill ambassador would send [the] wrong message to all the sports persons in the country”.
Salman Khan should not have used this analogy to describe his shooting schedule. He should have given a different answer or cited some other example. This way he has hurt the image of Indian sports.
