There have been many female spies in history who've played a key role behind the scenes. Spies like Noor Inayat Khan, Mata Hari and Madhuri Gupta have endured many harsh conditions including interrogation and torture for their respective nations.

During World War II, Winston Churchill formed a web of spies and recruited many women on ground for his Special Operations Executive (SOE) division. Noor Inayat Khan, direct descendant of Tipu Sultan, was a part of Churchill’s SOE.
