While R Balki’s latest offering, the Arjun and Kareena Kapoor starrer Ki & Ka got a thumbs down from film critics at large, going by the film’s box office collections, the general audience seems to have given it a thumbs up. Balki is both happy and a bit angry. At the film’s success party, he gave film critics a taste of their own medicine.
Sometimes the critics feel only they have the power to criticise something. It is time for the film industry to criticise the critics’ work, because that also works either way. Critics should review a film for the audience not for some person in the Berlin Film Festival. Some people who call themselves critics, they are the kind of people who watch Czech films without subtitles and praise it. They watch a brown leaf fall for 45 minutes and say ‘what a poetic scene’. The Ki & Ka director went on to say that he doesn’t make films for the critics, and that his only aim is to please his audience.
I am not here to make a film for critics. If they happen to like the film, it is fine but if the audience likes the film, then it solves the purpose. Otherwise, I would have been bankrupt for making a film for these people. Ki & Ka is a film about freedom of choice. Therefore, we all have the same kind of right. I think the critics should understand now that despite their reviews, the audience has gone against them. 2. Shilpa, Sushmita, Lara, Preity and Others Tweet Their Blessings to Bipasha Basu
Bride-to-be Bipasha Basu must be grinning ear to ear with all the congratulatory messages coming her way from her Bollywood friends. Shilpa Shetty, Lara Dutta and Preity Zinta among may others took to Twitter to bless the couple after they recently announced their wedding plans.
Bipasha will reportedly get married at her Khar residence, with only family and close friends from both sides in attendance. A reception is said to be planned later at a prominent hotel in Lower Parel. Reports also suggest that there will be a mehendi ceremony on April 28th at a lounge bar in Juhu.

Emraan Hashmi has a knck of picking films with good music and he seems to have done it again with Azhar. The first song from the upcoming biopic just came out and this love ballad featuring Emraan Hashmi and Nargis Fakhri has all the reasons to top the charts in the months to come. 4. Tiger Shroff Says It’s Not Fair For Actors to Use Body Doubles
There’s no doubt that Tiger Shroff has a body worth flaunting. But he just made life a little difficult for other Bollywood hunks who use body doubles. He believes that an actor should do his own stunts or let the body double be the star of the film,
I did all the stunt scenes myself (in Baaghi) because I think it’s not fair for an actor to take body doubles. That’s why I worked so hard and did them myself as much as possible. If there was a body double, I would rather allow him to be the hero of the film. It’s not right to take his credit. 5. Karisma Gets Custody of Kids After Separation from Sanjay Kapur
The long drawn legal battle between actress Karisma Kapoor and her estranged husband Sanjay Kapur has finally been settled. According to ANI, Karisma and Sanjay have come to an agreement on the modalities for a separation before the Supreme Court. A few important points from the settlement are as follows:
- While Karisma has been given the custody of their two children, Sanjay will get visitation rights.
- A house in Mumbai belonging to Sanjay Kapur’s father has been transferred in Karisma’s name.
- An amount of Rs 10 lakhs for the expenses of the children will be derived from the monthly interest of bonds worth Rs 14 crore purchased by Sanjay Kapur.
- Supreme Court has quashed an FIR lodged by Karisma against her husband and in-laws.
As things stand today, the couple seems to have finally put everything behind them to mutually agree on the modalities for a separation before the Supreme Court.
