The makers of the film Udta Punjab have been getting a lot of flak for ruining the image of a happy Punjab with the subject of their film. On one hand, the makers are having a painful time, but the silver lining in all of this happens to be the fact that the film fraternity is coming together to support the film and the issues everyone faces with the CBFC.

Kabir Khan in an interview with a news channel recently revealed how he faced the brutal reality of Punjab when he was shooting for his film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

We all know to what extent the drug problems exist in Punjab. I was shooting last year in border areas of Punjab for Bajrangi Bhaijaan and everybody there was only talking about it. We saw people, we saw families who were suffering with this problem. And now if a film is trying to highlight and put focus on this problem then how is it negatively portraying people? If any film is talking about it then it’s actually going to help highlight the problem and it will help people to galvanise and try fight this problem. I mean, are we ostriches that we dig a hole, put our head into it and pretend that nobody is seeing us? It’s a genuine problem and it needs to be addressed.

We also saw Kangana Ranaut supporting the cause as she shared an incident about Queen, which ran into trouble because the film showed the close-up of a bra.

Our director was furious about it. We are artistes... we see props as they are. A woman’s bra is not a danger to the society

Taking the issue forward, Karan Johar who is very vocal about addressing all issues that need to be addressed took onto the role of a guest writer with NDTV and wrote an open letter confessing that he recently has been suffering from a disease called Censorrhoea also known as Censoritus.

So yes, I’m deeply stressed as a filmmaker, and I know I’m not alone. Because I realize that the filmmaker next door is suffering. The censorship crisis, the moral policing, the politics of it has most of us on edge. Punjab is apparently off limits. And to that I can only say: hahahaha, what on earth is happening?! It’s a place I love and I’m Punjabi and now, should I not be talking about Punjab myself?

We hear that Romanian beauty Iulia Vantur is busy searching the perfect house in Bandra these days as she wants to settle down here.

Her brief not only includes a plush home in Bandra but also needs to be as close as possible to Galaxy Apartments which is where our blue eyed boy Salman Khan happens to live in.

The duo recently returned from Budapest where Salman was shooting for a song for Sultan. Neither are we assuming any sort of fire here nor we indulging in any wide smiles. Just saying!

Richa Chaddha is a bright girl with a perfectly sorted head on her shoulders and her feet on the ground. She was invited by the Delhi Technological University to give a talk at TEDxDTU about ‘love art in yourself and not yourself in art’ and the girl blew everyone away.

She spoke about how she was asked to get a boob job, lip job, a bigger booty and other cosmetic surgeries to enhance her features which made her sick and she fell in the trap leading to bulimia.

She not only gave a piece of her mind to her haters at the talk but also spoke at length about how we shouldn’t promote star kids over talent and on also how the industry in general has become much more accepting towards outsiders in comparison to how the scenario was.

All she wants is to be the symbol of a self made person and an inspiration to many.

Alia Bhatt deserves a pat on her back for being able to achieve so much in just her twenties.

Just like you and I, she has had hard times when she has been pained but rather than crying over what’s gone, she has made it her strength and worked harder.

My father has had his share of failed relationships. And I suppose all of us have gone through them. Failed relationships help one to grow. I have also had one and I moved away from it because I wanted to achieve something with my career. And somehow that enabled me to focus on my work.

Rumours have been abuzz about John Abraham wanting to split with wife Priya Runchal ever since they tied the knot. Time and again we have been hearing that all is not well between the couple and marriage was not such a great idea. John clarified the rumours and once and for all said that he wont be paying heed to any talks about his marriage.

I don’t even feel like talking about this any longer. I mean, how long can I even continue clarifying things? Every other day, there is some rumour or the other. Let people say what they have to. I’m tired of repeating what I’ve already said. I’m tired of justifying things, telling people what is true and what is not.
