1. SRK Thinks Bajirao Mastani is a Niche Film, Deepika Humbly Disagrees

‘Niche’ seems to have become a tricky word in Bollywood. Recently, SRK used it to describe Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Friday release, Bajirao Mastani. Soon after Shah Rukh’s comment, Mastani Deepika Padukone jumped to her film’s defence saying that SLB’s period drama is globally appealing and not niche at all. Bajirao Mastani’s release clashes with the SRK starrer Rohit Shetty film, Dilwale this week.

According to an Indian Express report, this is what Deepika had to say-

I don’t know what he(SRK) meant when he said niche but what I can say is both are very different films. I have worked with both directors (Rohit Shetty and Sanjay Leela Bhansali) and they have different things to offer. You can’t compare the two.
- Deepika Padukone, Actress

In fact, Deepika thinks that it is indeed a good thing that audiences will get to watch two starkly different films this weekend. Well, what’s a little war of words as compared to the cinematic war that Friday will unleash?

4. Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 Trailer Looks Like a Kinky Fantasy Gone Horribly Wrong

We’re curious about what the censor board will have to say about director Umesh Ghadge’s Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3, India’s first porn-com. The trailer just came out and this Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani and Mandana Karimi starrer semi porn cum romantic comedy appears to be disturbingly crass and full of tasteless jokes about breasts and penises. If we wanted to watch porn, we would just watch that. Why try making it romantic or funny Ekta Kapoor? Balaji Motion Pictures’ sex comedy rides high on Mandana Karimi’s popularity as a Bigg Boss contestant and will hit theatres sometime in 2016. God save us!

5. X-Men Villain Mentions Lord Krishna In a Dialogue, Film Gets Into Trouble

“I have been called many things over many lifetimes, Ra Krishna and Yahweh.”

This X-Men: Apocalypse dialogue has a US based Hindu leader up in arms. Rajan Zed, President of an organization called Universal Society of Hinduism has rubbished the comparison made between the Hindu deity and the fictional villain. Zed has demanded for the scene/dialogue to be edited out of the film and its trailer, via an agitated tweet.

The teaser of director Bryan Singer’s sci-fi flick just came out and has already landed up in trouble. Zed details out his objection with the film in a statement published on his website- ” He also suggested that Hollywood executives be trained in religious and cultural sensitivity. Hollywood is welcome to make films about Krishna, he said, as long as “the final product remain true to the scriptures and not a fantasised or re-imagined version.”

Hindus are upset over comparison of blue-colored villain Apocalypse with their deity Lord Krishna in the recently released official trailer of “X-Men: Apocalypse” action-adventure Hollywood superhero movie releasing in May 2016. Such trivialization of Lord Krishna, who is revered in Hinduism, is inappropriate and disturbing to devotees. Hindus welcomed Hollywood to immerse in Hinduism, but taking it seriously and respectfully and not for refashioning Hinduism concepts and symbols just to further its agenda. Hollywood was welcome to make movies about Lord Krishna or other Hindu deities but the final product should be true to the scriptures and not a fantasized or a re-imagined version.
- Rajan Zed, President, Universal Society of Hinduism

The makers of the film are yet to react to Zed’s demand while the film is scheduled for a 2016 release.
