Deepika Padukone had recently featured on the Forbes list of the world’s highest paid actresses at number 10, after signing her Padmavati deal. And now Priyanka Chopra’s Quantico has put her at number 8 on the coveted list of TV’s highest paid actresses. Bollywood is truly making its mark in the world of entertainment and our ladies are right on top.
The west is loving Priyanka Chopra. Apart from her musical collaborations with Pitbull, Will.I.Am and Jay Sean, she also plays the lead in two seasons of the American thriller TV series Quantico. She’s a regular on Jimmy Falon’s hugely popular talk show and even presented an award at the Oscars and the Emmys this year.
2. Brad Pitt Under Investigation For Child Abuse?
A week after the news of Angelina Jolie filing for divorce from husband Brad Pitt, comes a more shocking revelation- the possible reason for it. According to a TMZ report, Pitt allegedly got verbally and physically abusive with their children and is currently being investigated by the LAPD and the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services.
The report also reveals that the actor got drunk on his private jet while travelling with his family and got verbally and physically abusive with the couple’s children.
Pitt was reportedly seen talking angrily while walking on the tarmac after the plane landed. In fact, an eyewitness at the airport might have reported his behaviour to the concerned authorities. Apparently, Jolie was reportedly present at the time of the incident and Pitt did not return to the family home afterwards.
However, a source close to the actor defended him saying that people are trying to malign him with such reports and that he did not commit any such abuse. This incident is being reported as the trigger for his wife Angelina Jolie to have walked out on their marriage, apparently on the same night. She has appealed for sole custody of their six children and has cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for ending their two year marriage.

3. Tamil Film Visaranai Is India’s Official Entry For The Oscars
Vetrimaaran’s powerful Visaranai has been selected as India’s official entry for the Academy Awards by the Film Federation of India. The film is based on a novel titled Lock Up by M Chandrakumar and deals with issues such as police brutality and corruption.
Tamil star Dhanush who is also the producer of Visaranai, tweeted out a letter of appreciation to his team on hearing about the selection:
Vetrimaaran has emerged as one of Tamil cinema’s most significant filmmakers in recent years and has award winning films like Polladhavan and Aadukalam to his name. Visaranai won three National Awards this year - Best Feature Film in Tamil, Best Supporting Actor and Best Editing.
The film premiered at the 72nd Venice Film Festival and released in India in February earlier this year. Popular Tamil film critic Baradwaj Rangan called the film a “powerful, chilling drama about how the system toys with us”.
The violence in Visaranai is… horrifying is too mild a word. But it’s not torture porn. It’s necessary, dictated by the film’s structure. 4. Salman & Katrina Back On Camera Together
After four years, we finally get to see Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif together on screen. No, you don’t have to wait till Christmas 2017 to see Salman and Katrina together. The couple has just finished shooting a commercial for a luxury clothing brand in the Middle East and here are a few pictures from all the behind the scenes action.
Salman and Katrina looked quite comfortable with each other and it looks like they had lots of fun during the shoot.
