Priyanka Chopra’s Quantico is treading on thin ice as it sees its ratings dip steadily since the beginning of the second season. The writers of the show confirmed the news about it moving mid-season to the Monday 10 pm slot.
The show had initially enjoyed the Sunday evening 10 pm slot. According to a report in Variety, the second season of Quantico has garnered 1% of TV watchers in Nielsen’s live-plus-same day ratings and under 3 million views.
According to Variety, even though the show enjoys better viewership in its delayed spot, it starts much lower than the previous season. The first season, it seems, saw good ratings live as well as delayed.
The show is also facing flak for having too many plot twists and turns including Priyanka’s dual life as a FBI and CIA agent, as well as, the flashback format that it’s hard to keep up with Alex Parrish’s story.
Variety also mentioned that the second season is being shot in New York. A move that is saving ABC about 30% on its production costs.
There are also rumours abound about the show being cancelled after this season because of its poor ratings. With all this, reports also suggest that it may lose its headliner, Priyanka next season because of her upcoming Hollywood projects.
