While desi girl Priyanka Chopra claimed her spot at the 88th Academy Awards with a good amount of bling on display, Kate Winslet too was seen sporting jewellery by Indian designer Nirav Modi. Of course, Priyanka Chopra’s glorious gown became the talk of the town (if we could change the idiom, we’d say many a town) but the actual show stealers were dangling from her ears! Don’t believe us? Well, believe the figure: her jewellery exhibit reportedly totalled up to a whopping $ 8 million!
WHAT: The dusky Indian beauty was wearing Lorraine Schwartz jewels for the prestigious occasion. The 50 carat diamond front-back earrings costs a crazy $ 3.2 million. Then there were the rings. The happy threesome that slipped onto her fingers were – a 22 carat diamond ring worth $ 3.4 million, a 10 carat diamond pinky ring worth $ 850,000 and to top if off an 8 carat diamond bypass ring costing $ 300,000.

The stunning Kate Winslet surprised the world by choosing her red carpet jewellery from the covetable collection of Nirav Modi’s jewels.
WHAT: She sported the Luminance Bracelet, matching it with the Luminance earrings and then adding the two carat Pear Celestial Ring to strike a perfect balance of gleam and glitter. The pieces were encrusted with as many as 100 carats of precious white diamonds.
Also, Winslet spoke to Vogue and shared this little secret about planning her look for the Oscars:
I wanted to look sleek and chic and to feel powerful and proud of myself. The dress is actually very simple; it’s the fabric that makes the statement. But my jewels by Nirav Modi, are such statement pieces because they are so delicate in contrast to the drama of the dress, and they really help to balance out the look.
