Dearest Mr Coelho, whatever you do, don’t flag off your SRK marathon with Ra One.
We can understand that you’re ecstatic about the parcel you’ve received from the king of Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan is undoubtedly a superstar and if he had sent me a box full of his films, it would make my week too. But since you’re the lucky one, and SRK has requested us to offer our recommendations, we’re here to help you make your way through what is probably going to be the most dramatic week of your life.
This lot of SRK films will make you laugh and cry at the same time, guaranteed. So here goes.
Chak De is a good one to start off with. It’s a slow start into SRK’s powerhouse of acting and superstardom. Subtle and nice with a ton of patriotism. You could then watch the period film Asoka, followed by the full blown commercial melodrama and reincarnation saga Om Shanti Om. Choose at random from the remaining- Don, Swades and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. And at the very end, watch Ra One. You’ll either love it or completely hate it. But it’s an acquired taste, so try not jumping into this one straight away, or you might never get through the rest of them.
You’re already a fan of My Name Is Khan, so chances are you’ll like most of these. If you need some more advice, you know where to find us. Enjoy!
