One of the biggest stars in the electronic dance music (EDM) scene, Avicii - whose real name is Tim Bergling - churned out many club staples such ‘Wake Me Up’ and ‘Levels’.

Though the cause of death has not be revealed, media reports have claimed that he used to suffer from acute pancreatitis owing to excessive drinking.

After getting much recognition for his house track ‘Levels’ in 2011, Avicii came out with his first studio album ‘True’ in 2013. This was followed by the second album ‘Stories’ in 2015. In 2016, the musician announced that he was retiring from touring because of health reasons.

However, he did not stop making music, releasing a six-track EP album called ‘Avīci (01)’ in August 2017.

The artist had been a regular on the Billboard charts and won a number of American Music Awards, Billboard music awards and MTV Europe music awards for his EDM work.

During his career, Avicii had also collaborated with the likes of Chris Martin, Carlos Santana and Wyclef Jean (with the latter two, he collaborated on the official anthem for the 2014 football World Cup in Brazil, titled ‘We Will Find a Way’).
