Even before the censorship controversy around his first filmMSG - The Messenger had settled, Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Ram Rahim Singh had announced his decision to make a sequel in January this year and he wasn’t joking.
Though the MSG was ripped apart by anyone who cared to review it, news is that MSG 2 will be shot in just 9 days and is likely to hit theaters by June end this year. The film is said to be based on the Dera chief’s initiative to rescue certain tribal communities living in Udaipur from the evils of drugs and alcohol.
Singh’s spokesman Aditya Insan said in a recent interview that, while carrying out relief work in an earthquake struck Gujarat in 2001, Singh heard about tribals in Udaipur who were living under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The sequel will be a dramatization of Singh’s intervention that helped ‘transform’ the lives of these tribals, helping them to lead a ‘normal’ life.
The controversial spiritual leader who has been charged with several criminal cases in the past, hopes to increase his influence with his new film which will be released worldwide in several languages including Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
