The trailer for biopic, PM Narendra Modi starring Vivek Oberoi as Prime Minister Narendra Modi dropped recently. Already, the film is slowly turning out to be a blatant glorification of the Prime Minister, raising a few eye brows.

The trailer represents Modi as a god-like figure who has never known anything but kindness. That’s alright, but the movie claims to be based on true events. That, clubbed with the timing of its release makes the intentions questionable.

There has been a strange controversy since the release. For starters, Javed Akhtar swiftly pointed out that his name is credited on the poster, but clarified he had nothing to do with the film. Lyricist Sameer followed suit.

While the film is surrounded in controversy, what remains to be seen is how the audience receives the film. PM Narendra Modi is set to hit theatres on 12th April 2019.
