Irrfan Khan has sent out a powerful message slamming the recent Dhaka attack which killed 20 people in a restaurant. The actor who has been in the news for criticising the sacrifice of goats in the holy month of Ramzan and Muharram strongly condemned the actions of terrorists who give a bad name to Islam. Irrfan also wrote about Islam being the foundation of peace, grace and empathy besides raising the question whether Muslims should remain quiet in such times.
During childhood, our religion taught us that if your neighbour is hungry, then you shouldn’t eat without him. After hearing about the news in Bangladesh, I feel terribly hollow inside. For not knowing what’s written in the Quran, people were killed in the holy month of Ramzaan. An incident takes place in one place, but Islam and the entire world’s Muslims are given a bad name. The foundation of Islam is peace, grace and feeling others’ pain. So should a Muslim keep quiet and let the religion be insulted? Or should a Muslim understand the meaning of Islam himself and help others understand that cruelty and committing massacre is not Islam. That’s the question.Irrfan Khan

Bachpan mein mazhab ke baare mein kaha gaya tha ki aapka parausi (neighbor) bhooka ho toh aapko usko shamil kiye bina akele khana nehi khana chahiye. Bangladesh ki khabar sunker ander ajeeb vehshat ka sannatta hai… Quran ki aayeten naa janne ki wajeh se ramzaan ke mahine mein logon ko qatal ker diya gaya. Haadsa ek jagah hota hai, badnaam Islaam aur poori duniya ka musalman hota hai. Woh Islaam jiski buniyaad hi aman, reham aur dusro ka dard mehsoos kerna hai. Aise me kya musalman chup baitha rahe aur mazhab ko badnaam hone de? ya wo khud Islaam ke sahi mayne(meaning) ko smajhe aur doosron ko bataye, ki zulm aur qatlo gharat(massacre) karna Islaam nehi hai. YEH EK SAWAAL HAIN !! (sic)Irrfan Khan condemns the attack at a restaurant in Bangladesh on Facebook.
