Based on the real incident of Indian nurses taken hostage by ISIS (also known as Daesh), Tiger is back in Tiger Zinda Hai. As the trailer was launched worldwide, it is a little refreshing to watch less of Salman Khan, and more about the nurses and their captors. The trailer seems to weave a terrifying story about the daring rescue of the nurses by Tiger, and his Pakistani counterpart, Zoya (played by Katrina Kaif).

In contrast to the prequel, Ek Tha Tiger, there is a lot less romancing, singing, and dancing and lot more story development. This comes as a welcome change from most Bhai films. Now, of course, most of the names are changed, along with the terrorist organisation’s as well, the similarities drawn between ISIS (Daesh) and the fictional ISC and Abu Usman are evidently similar. The trailer doesn’t shy away from a dramatisation of beheadings orchestrated by Daesh (ISIS), and also shows the intellectual forces behind the terrorist organisation.

A few corny dialogues aside, the trailer seems to be quite a smashing one.

Girish Karnad reprises his role as Tiger’s handler, as does Katrina Kaif in the role of Zoya. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, and produced by Aditya Chopra, Tiger Zinda Hai stars Salman Khan in the titular role of Tiger. The film is set for a worldwide release on 22 December under the banner of Yash Raj Films.
