On Sunday, friends and family came into take part in the cremation of writer and director Kalpana Lajmi who passed away the same morning after suffering from chronic kidney disease and liver failure. The 64-year-old filmmaker’s last rites were performed by her brother Dev, while her mother Lalita Lajmi was also present at the cremation.
Shabana Azmi, Soni Razdan and Shyam Benegal were among those present from the Hindi film industry who paid their final respects to Kalpana Lajmi. A wreath was sent by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to pay respects to Lajmi.
