The release of Dhanush’s much-awaited Enai Noki Paayum Thota (ENPT) has been pushed yet again. It is helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The filmmakers confirmed the news on 5 September, a day before the film was expected to release on 6 September. The filmmakers issued an official statement saying that the makers were “equally if not more disappointed.”

“It’s been a journey, no doubt, and we are aware that the delays in the release have put us at the receiving end of a lot of your angst, frustration and comments and we have always taken that in our stride. But when we are so close to delivering, we hope to receive your support and wishes rather than anything else,” read the statement.

While the makers have not specified the reason for the delay, there have been reports stating that financial issues have resulted in a court order that forbids the release of the film.

Reportedly, SN Rajarajan of K Productions bought theatrical rights for the Baahubali franchise in Tamil Nadu. K Productions is also one of ENPT’s distributors. Apparently, the production company had bought the rights for Rs 28 crore but has managed to only pay up Rs 12.5 crore. Following the failure to pay the remaining sum, Baahubali makers went to court and have secured an order that prevents K Productions from releasing any movies until the dues are cleared.

However, this isn’t the first time the film’s release is being pushed. Previously, it has been slated to release in 2017 as well as 2018, but failed both the times due to some reason or the other. Naturally, audiences had almost forgotten about the film until the trailer of the film was released a week ago announcing that ENPT would finally see light of the day on 6 September. Now, that too is not happening.

Despite these challenges, the fans of Dhanush are loyal and continue to prove their loyalty. After the news of the film release being postponed broke, fans began expressing their solidarity on Twitter with #DhanushFansStandWithGVM.

ENPT stars Dhanush and Megha Akash in the lead. Supporting cast includes Sasikumar, Vela Ramamoorthy, Senthil Veersamy, and Sunaina.
