The trailer of Mahesh Manjrekar’s Bhai - Vyakti Ki Valli, a biopic of renowned Marathi writer, actor and humourist PL Deshpande, has just been released. Starring Sagar Deshmukh as Deshpande, and Irawati Harshe as his wife Sunitabai Deshpande, the film promises a peek into the Marathi icon’s life.
The trailer attempts to distinguish between the man and the personality, and revolves around Deshpande’s child-like demeanor and signature humour which made him an honoured writer as well as a difficult person to live with. Check it out here:
A music composer, actor, orator and script writer, Purushottam Lakshman Deshpande, fondly known as Pula, is among Maharashtra’s cultural icons. People could relate to him and his characters, owing to the uniqueness of his humour and inspiration from everyday life. His famous works include Mhais, Ek Hota Vidushak, Tujha Aahe Tujapashi and Batatyachi Chaal.
Bhai - Vyakti Ki Valli will release on 4 January, 2019.
