Featuring Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra as army officers on a mission to expose corruption, Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaari has been banned in Pakistan. This will be Pandey’s third film that has faced trouble in Pakistan. Previously, Naam Shabana as well as Baby didn’t make the cut. Neeraj Pandey spoke to Deccan Chronicle about the matter.

“I don’t think I am a problem. It has to be the film. The theme ( of ‘Aiyaary’) is very patriotic and doesn’t cut well there. Even MS Dhoni was not allowed to be shown in Pakistan.”

Back home, the CBFC gave the film a green light after modifications were suggested by the Ministry of Defence, for whom the film was specially screened. "The film is banned. Its content was disapproved," told Satish Anand to IANS, who was responsible for distributing the movie in Pakistan.

(The Quint, in association with BitGiving, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for an 8-month-old who was raped in Delhi on 28 January 2018. The baby girl, who we will refer to as 'Chhutki', was allegedly raped by her 28-year-old cousin when her parents were away. She has been discharged from AIIMS hospital after undergoing three surgeries, but needs more medical treatment in order to heal completely. Her parents hail from a low-income group and have stopped going to work so that they can take care of the baby. You can help cover Chhutki's medical expenses and secure her future. Every little bit counts. Click here to donate.)
