Akshay Kumar has been working on serious films for the last two years and can’t wait to get back to his comic self. He played a tough secret service agent in Neeraj Pandey’s Baby and was a terrorist-chasing military officer in A R Murugadoss’s Holiday (2014).
Not to forget his Lord Krishna avatar in OMG - Oh My God! (2012) and his latest act as a corruption vigilante in Gabbar is Back. He feels it’s time to laugh a little. Rightly so, we love his slapstick comic self!
I am itching to go back to Housefull 3. I want to go back and do slapstick comedy. I want to fall on a banana peel!

Akshay admitted that he misses being a part of Hera Pheri 3, which he had to turn down due to personal reasons.
I won’t be doing a cameo in Hera Pheri 3. I am sure they will make a good film and come up with something brilliant.

We’ve seen him pull off a range of LOL comedies with directors like Priyadarshan, David Dhawan and Rajkumar Santoshi. Though his next film Gabbar Is Back has subtle humour mixed with a heavy dose of action.
While he might still be emerging as a comic, his stunts remain unparalleled. Akshay Kumar usually does all the daredevilry himself and keeps it real in Gabbar too. But he is disappointed with fans copying his stunts mindlessly.
I read some guy jumped from the plane and took my name when the police caught him. Why don’t they follow the good work I do? It’s just a film, enjoy it don’t take it to heart. Try to grasp the good things from it. Don’t follow the wrong things of the negative or grey characters.

Could this be the reason for Akshay wanting to go back to harmless comedy? Who knows! We can’t wait to watch him fall over a banana peel either way! Of course, only after we’re done with his brand new film Gabbar Is Back.
