PewDiePie Hits Out at T-Series, India After YouTube Defeat

The months-long battle between Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie and Indian production house and music label, T-series to become the most-subscribed YouTube channel finally seems to have reached some kind of a conclusion.

On Saturday, Bhushan Kumar’s T-series overtook PewDiePie to become the number 1 YouTube channel.

To acknowledge his defeat, PewDiePie uploaded an upbeat congratulatory music video directly addressing the Indian music label. The song, titled Congratulations, is both a humble acceptance by the Swedish YouTuber as well as a dig at Bhushan Kumar and T-Series. From India’s caste oppression to accusing T-Series of starting its business by “selling pirated songs” (he uses a Wikipedia page as source), Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg leaves no stone untouched. He even mentions a ‘cease and desist’ letter he received from T-Series.

He also took a dig at India hitting out at ‘caste system’ and ‘poverty’.

"Indians are poo poo in their brains", apart from talking about India's poverty and caste system,” he said.

"India got YouTube figured out...How about next you figure how to fix the caste system... May be all those ads will solve your crippling poverty," PewDiePie also said.

Towards the end of the diss track, PewDiePie takes a different turn and addresses his fans directly. He thanks them for supporting him and says that he’s grateful for everyone who has stuck with his channel ever since he was a “nobody.” He also mentions India’s caste system and poverty.

After the release of this video, PewDiePie has managed to garner more subscribers yet again and is head of T-Series yet again.
