Sacred Games season 2 is all set to premiere on 15 August, and Netflix has released a recap of season 1 to help fans jog their memory. In the video we see Nawazuddin Siddiqui narrate the story as his character on the show, Ganesh Gaitonde.
The actor narrates the story just like his character does on screen, using one-liners, abuses and expletives. The recap video opens with the lines: “Do you believe in God?” - a line that’s crucial to the plot in season one, and also going forward.
Pankaj Tripathi aka Khanna Guruji also makes an appearance towards the end, and teases season 2. “This story and this game isn’t over. Twelve days are left. This game is big. Very big,” he says.
Season 1 had two parallel tracks, one that depicts the criminal underground of Mumbai in the ‘80s and ‘90s with Ganesh Gaitonde at the helm of it, and the other is set in current times where a police inspector (Saif Ali Khan) investigates some bizarre events linked to the gangster.

Pankaj Tripathi will have a bigger role to play in the story in season 2. And he will be joined by new cast members like Kalki Koechlin and Ranbir Shorey.
While Anurag Kashyap continues to be the director for Nawazuddin’s portions, Neeraj Ghaywan has replaced Motwane as the director for Saif’s parts.
