This is the first time Rajkummar and Priyanka will be sharing screen space. Ramin Bahrani is directing the film which is based on Aravind Adiga's Man Booker prize-winning novel of the same name. The Quint got in touch with Rajkummar and this is what the actor had to say.

Rajkummar will start shooting in October. Netflix is producing The White Tiger in association with Mukul Deora. Bahrani is also writing the screenplay. Priyanka will also serve as the executive producer.

The White Tiger follows the extraordinary journey of a self-made man from tea-shop worker in a village to successful entrepreneur in a big city.

The film will also feature debutante Adarsh Gourav.

This is an exciting collaboration for Priyanka Chopra also. Here’s what she had to say,

“I’m very excited to work with Ramin Bahrani and Netflix to bring Aravind Adiga’s poignant story to cinematic life. I was fascinated with the story when I read the book. The portrayal of raw ambition and the extent one will go to to achieve one’s goals is something that is commendable. I look forward to filming this in India this fall, and also working along with Rajkummar for the first time”
