Altered Carbon - S1

Based on the 2002 novel of the same name by author Richard K. Morgan, Altered Carbon is a 10-part science-fiction cyberpunk drama that is gaining ground not only for its premise but also because it apparently evokes Bladerunner. Set 300 years in the future in a futuristic version of San Francisco called Bay City, where people live on and achieve immortality by transferring their consciousness to different bodies. The lone surviving soldier from a group of warriors who were defeated in an uprising against the new world order must solve a murder.

In a rural Iowa community during the Great Depression, a stranger with a violent past poses as a preacher and rallies the farmers to mount a strike.
