Comedian Kanan Gill is all set to host Netflix’s The Brand New Show, which will also include elements of sketch comedy. We caught up with him on the sets of the show. Kanan took us around and showed us the working of the show, everything from technical lights to tips from directors.
As per Netflix, The Brand New Show will feature “topical monologues, banterful [sic] conversation, hilarious skits, and puts the spotlight on the country’s comedic elite and the biggest stars.” But is that all there is? What happens when the AD yells ‘Silence’? What about the experience of actually being on the sets?
“What do you do when you hear someone say ‘Silence?’ Suppose you’re on a set and you hear someone say ‘Silence’, do you keep quiet? No, you don’t. Actually, you also shout ‘Silence!’ So, then everybody is shouting ‘Silence’ and the opposite of silence has been achieved.”Kanan Gill, Comedian
