From the final seasons of award-winning comedy Modern Family and family drama Empire to new seasons of American Horror Story and Fresh Off the Boat, here’s your guide to new additions streaming on Hotstar this September.
Modern Family (Season 11)
Get ready to say your final goodbyes to the Pritchetts, Dunphys and Tucker-Pritchetts as Modern Family enters its last season. Since first airing in 2009, the mocumentary-style comedy which revolves around an extended family has won several awards including 22 Emmys, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA. While details of the season are under wraps, creator Steven Levitan has said one of the arcs will involve how the Dunphy household is affected by the newest members of the family – Haley’s twins. The show will culminate in an hour-long finale.
Season 6 of Modern Family streams from 26 September.
Empire (Season 6)
The series which revolves around fictional hip hop music and entertainment company, Empire Entertainment and the drama among the members of the founders' family as they fight for control of it will end with its sixth season. While Terrance Howard and Taraji P Henson will return as music moguls Lucious Lyon and Cookie Lyon, Jussie Smolett’s character Jamal Lyon has been written out of the show following the actor’s recent scandal where he was accused of fabricating and filing a false police report for having been the victim of an allegedly racially motivated attack. Smolett was later cleared of all charges.
Season 6 of Empire streams from 25 September.
Mayans MC (Season 2)
Part of the same fictional world as Sons of Anarchy, which is centred around a gang of outlaw bikers, this spin-off deals with the gang’s rivals-turned-allies, The Mayans Motorcycle Club. Mayans MC takes place four years after the events of Sons of Anarchy and season 2 sees Ezekiel EZ Reyes who is fresh out of prison and a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California-Mexico border.

The Deuce (Season 3)
Created by George Pelecanos and David Simon (The Wire), this semi-fictional drama chronicles the rise of the porn industry in New York. It stars Maggie Gyllenhaal as sex worker-turned-filmmaker Eileen “Candy” Merrell, and James Franco as twin brothers. The third season chronicles the dying days of Times Square as the heart of the American sex trade as the city takes over commercial sex properties, VHS overtakes film as the primary medium for porn production and distribution and the AIDS epidemic spreads.
Season 3 of The Deuce streams from 10 September.
Mr Inbetween (Season 2)
The Australian black comedy inspired by 2015 film The Magician returns for its second season. Ray Shoesmith must juggle a new relationship, parental responsibilities, friendship and a sick brother – a feat difficult for anyone to manage but especially so if you also happen to be a hitman. As a series of very unfortunate and darkly funny events play out, the bodies pile up, and Ray must avoid being one of them.
Season 2 of Mr Inbetween streams from 13 September.
Room 104 (Season 3)
The anthology series from the Jay and Mark Duplass is back with a third season and follows the unusual experiences of different guest of a single hotel room in New York.

American Horror Story: 1984 (Season 9
The ninth instalment of Ryan Murphy’s horror series is based on ’80s slasher films, so expect plenty of gore. Previous American Horror Story alumni Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, Leslie Grossmand and John Carroll Lynch will feature in this season along with newcomers Angelica Ross, Matthew Morrison and Zach Villa.
Season 9 of American Horror Story: 1984 streams from 19 September.
This Is Us (Season 4)
The fourth season of the family dramedy which chronicles the lives of the Pearson family across decades will see Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore return alongside plenty of new additions including Once Upon a Time star Jennifer Morrison, When They See Us stars Asante Blackk and Marsha Stephanie Blake as well as The Sixth Sense director M Night Shyamalan.
Season 4 of This Is Us streams from 25 September.
Fresh Off The Boat (Season 6)
Based on the life of author and restauranteur Eddie Huang, this comedy revolves around the lives of a Taiwanese immigrant family adjusting to life in ’90s America. The show stars Randall Park and Constance Wu.
Season 6 of Fresh Off The Boat streams from 28 September.
