We got up, close and personal with the lead actress of Raees, Mahira Khan who is also being referred to as Zaalima these days. The actress spoke to the Indian media via a video broadcast for the first time since the release of her film opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Here’s what she had to say about working with King Khan in her first Bollywood film.
Question: A lot of people want to know what is your experience on working with the two Khans, Shah Rukh and Fawad?
Mahira: So, my first proper work was with Fawad. And I was sort of clueless when I started acting. So Fawad was a big help in that way. But I was never in awe of Fawad. He’s a great co-actor, he really helps me out. But, comparing him and Shah Rukh, would be so wrong. I can’t do it.
Question: How did you celebrate the success of Raees in Pakistan?
Mahira: I can’t tell you how I celebrated the success of Raees!
Question: How excited are people to hear of the film’s release in Pakistan after the ban has been lifted?
Mahira: You don’t know how much we wanted this film to release here. Raees is a big one. Everyone’s waiting. You can’t imagine how many calls I get about the film’s release.
Question: Did you miss promoting Raees in India?
Mahira: I know a lot has been said about me not being able to promote the film. As an actor, I’m just glad to see my film do the way it has. That’s more than enough.
Question: When did you first meet Shah Rukh?
