After wrapping up the political drama Kodi with director Durai Senthilkumar last month, Dhanush has briskly moved on to his next Tamil project Enai Noki Paayum Thota with director Gautham Menon of Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein and Ekk Deewana Tha fame.
The film went on the floors on Monday in Chennai at a private engineering college in Kelambakkam. “Gautham Menon had earlier canned important portions of his Neethaane En Ponvasantham in the same premises. The team will shoot here for the next few days before moving on to Mumbai for the next leg of shooting, where major scenes will be filmed,” informs a source in the unit.
Gautham Menon is also planning to shoot few sequences in the backdrop of the picturesque landscapes and lush green meadows of Alleppey in Kerala. He is collaborating with Mollywood cinematographer Jomon T John, best known for his work in recent hits including Charlie and Ennu Ninte Moideen, for the first time for this project.
Produced by Ondraaga Entertainment, Enai Noki Paayum Thota is touted to be a romantic thriller. Debutante Megha Akash, who recently finished shooting for Oru Pakka Kathai opposite Kalidas Jayaram and signed Suseenthiran’s yet-untitled multi-starrer project with Udhayanidhi Stalin, has been roped in as the lead heroine.
Dhanush is expected to finish this film before the end of May, after which he will start shooting for National award-winning filmmaker Vetrimaaran’s long-gestating two-part gangster drama Vada Chennai and French filmmaker Marjane Satrapi’s English-language film The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe, which rolls out from 22nd of June in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
