Jeetendra Denies Sexual Assault Allegations by Cousin

The victim alleges that she was sexually abused by Jeetendra when she was 18.

Veteran actor Jeetendra’s cousin filed a complaint of sexual assault against him in Himachal Pradesh. According to reports, the alleged incident occurred when the victim was 18 years old and Jeetendra was 28.

A report in India Today states that the victim chose to speak out after so many years after campaigns such as #MeToo created an atmosphere for victims of sexual abuse to speak out. The lady who wishes to remain anonymous also decided to file a formal police complaint after the demise of her parents, who would have been deeply affected if they had got to know of the sexual assault by their nephew, Jeetendra.

According to the victim’s statement, Jeetendra had taken her for a film’s shoot with her father’s permission, where he then sexually abused her. The lady is now seeking a closure for the mental trauma she had to undergo for the last so many years.

The victim and her family do not want to disclose her identity since Jeetendra, the accused in this case is a rich, powerful and influential personality.

Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee, Jeetendra’s Lawyer issued a statement responding to the allegations and said that Jeetendra categorically denies any such incident took place.

“..Such baseless, ridiculous and fabricated claims cannot be entertained by any Court of law or the law enforcement agencies after a span of almost 50 years. The Statute has provided a justice delivery system through the Courts, and the Limitation Act 1963 was specifically enacted to ensure that all genuine complaints are made within a maximum time limit of three years, so that a proper investigation is carried out and timely justice is delivered. The timing of this baseless complaint seems to be nothing but a miserable effort made by a jealous competitor to disrupt the business activities of my client and his esteemed company.”
