Sushant Singh Rajput is not averse to intimate scenes on the big screen. The actor broke Emraan Hashmi’s record of 13 kisses with Mallika Sherwat in Murder. Sushant shared 27 kisses between his two co-stars Parineeti Chopra and Vani Kapoor in Shuddh Desi Romance.
Sushant says, “As an actor one is prepared for everything. I am comfortable with intimate scenes.” About looking uncomfortable in the promo while kissing his co star Swastika Mukherjee in Detective Byomkesh Bakshy he says -
My character was to show discomfort about seduction and love as he has just passed out of college and this is the first case he is solving. So the discomfort you see in the intimate scene is the character’s discomfort that I was to portray.
In the film, as a young detective solving his first case, Byomkesh Bakshi visits Angoori Devi to ask questions, when she kisses him before he can react.
Sushant calls and tells girlfriend Ankita Lokhande before doing such scenes so that she is “mentally prepared.” For this film however, Sushant couldn’t inform her in advance as he was himself tricked into the seduction scene -
Dibakar wanted to capture my natural reaction and didn’t tell me about the kissing scene. So when the first take happened I reacted the way the character was supposed to react as per the script.
