During their Melbourne concert at the Etihad Stadium, while singing “A Sky Full of Stars”, Chris Martin stopped midway to let 31-year-old Lonardo Tanno propose to his girlfriend on stage.

But Chris’ well-intentioned gesture became a bit of a comical glitch, when Chris pulled the wrong girl on stage.

When the woman informed him about the mix up, Chris sportingly joked:

What? You’re not the person he’s proposing to? What then are you doing here? Well, thanks for coming anyway.

Though she was called in by mistake, the girl had her special moment as she got a chance to briefly share the spotlight with Chris and even stole a hug from him before leaving the stage.

The lovestruck Lonardo took the mic and poured his heart out to his girlfriend. He went down on one knee with the ring.

So in the midst of Coldplay, my new best friend Chris, and all the people here in Melbourne, I just want to say I love you. Will you marry me?

The crowd couldn’t help but ‘aww’.. after 26-year-old Felicia Lie accepted the grand proposal. She teared up as her boyfriend popped the question.

This isn't the first time someone popped the question in the middle of a Coldplay gig. Another couple declared their everlasting love for each other at their Wembley concert earlier this year.
