Every character in Avengers: Endgame's final battle came from various corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and they united together in their last stand against Thanos. Here’s a list of all the heroes that come back for the grand finale.

1. Iron Man

Tony Stark aka Iron Man played by Robert Downey Jr. was stuck in the home planet of Thanos, Titan during the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Iron Man survives the snap of Thanos.

2. Captain America

Steve Rogers aka Captain America played by Chris Evans was fighting Thanos’ army in the Battlefield of Wakanda before Thanos snapped his fingers. He was also one of the Avengers to survive the snap.

3. Thor

Thor, the God of Thunder played by Chris Hemsworth almost nearly killed off Thanos and his whole army in the battlefield of Wakanda in Avengers: Infinity War but what he didn’t do was go for Thanos’ head which resulted in Thanos snapping his fingers. He survived the snap too.

4. Hawkeye

Hawkeye was missing in Avengers: Infinity War because after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Clint Barton aka Hawkeye took a deal under Sokovia Records and went away to look after his family. Turns out he survived the snap of Thanos’ but his family doesn’t.

5. Hulk

Dr. Bruce Banner aka Hulk played by Mark Ruffalo gets beaten up at Asgard by Thanos and his army and is transported to Earth. After reaching earth he warns the other avengers of Thanos’ arrival and he finds it difficult to go back to his Hulk persona because the fight at Asgard took a toll on his confidence level. He is seen in Avengers: Infinity War at the battlefield of Wakanda wearing Tony Stark’s Hulkbuster suit. He also survives the snap.

6. Falcon

Falcon is a hero played by Anthony Mackie who fades away into dust at the end of Avengers: Infinity War after Thanos snaps his fingers. He was last seen in the Battlefield of Wakanda.

7. War Machine

Col. James Rhodes aka War Machine played by Don Cheadle who is also Tony’s best friend survives the snap of Thanos and is also last seen in the Battlefield of Wakanda at the end of Avengers: Infinity War

8. Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch played by Elizabeth Olsen joined the Avengers in Avengers: Age of Ultron and disintegrated into dust at the end of Avengers: Infinity War at the Battlefield of Wakanda while trying to destroy the Mind Stone which was placed in Vision’s head.

9. Ant-Man

Scott Lang aka Ant-Man played by Paul Rudd is stuck in the Quantum Realm at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp and is seen nowhere in Avengers: Infinity War.

10. Wasp

In the post credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp, Thanos’ had just snapped his fingers and Ant-Man had just entered the Quantum Realm. Hank Pym, Janet Van Dyne and Hope Van Dyne aka Wasp were standing outside the truck and slowly fade into dust. She is nowhere to be seen in Avengers: Infinity War.

11. Spider-Man

Perhaps one of the most emotional scenes in Avengers: Infinity War was when Spider-Man fades into dust after Thanos has snapped his fingers. He runs and hugs his mentor Tony Stark and says “Mr. Stark, I don’t feel so good. I don’t want to go.” He had faded into dust on Titan, the home planet of Thanos.

12. Star-Lord

Star-Lord played by Chris Pratt is one of the Guardians of the Galaxy and is one of the reasons why the heroes on Titan could not get the Infinity Gauntlet off Thanos’ hand while fighting him. Star-Lord fades into dust at Titan at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

13. Nebula

Nebula who is one of Thanos’ daughters is stuck on Titan fighting him with Iron Man and the others, she survives the snap and is stuck there with Iron Man at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

14. Drax

Drax is a Guardian of the Galaxy who seeks revenge against Thanos for killing his family. He was one of the heroes on Titan who faded away into dust after Thanos snapped his fingers.

15. Rocket

Rocket is one of the surviving Guardians who was battling Thanos’ army at the Battlefield of Wakanda at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

16. Groot

Another emotional moment at the end of Avengers: Infinity War was when Groot fades away into dust at the Battlefield of Wakanda. His last “I am Groot” was a signal of calling Rocket Raccoon his father.

17. Gamora

Okay, we all know that Gamora was made to sacrifice her life in order to get the soul stone in Avengers: Infinity War but in the final battle of Avengers: Endgame a past version of the same character fights the battle against her father Thanos so that he does not end up destroying the world again.

18. Mantis

Mantis is a Guardian who doesn’t survive the snap of Thanos while she was stuck in Titan at the end of Avengers: Infinity War but makes her comeback for the final battle at Avengers: Endgame.

19. Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange was the only hero who had seen the future and how they would win against Thanos because of his special power which was invested in the Time Stone. So when he willingly gives up the Time Stone to Thanos, he knew what he was doing as he had seen the future already. He disintegrates into dust at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

20. Wong

Wong didn’t have much of a role to play in Avengers: Infinity War and was stuck in New York City defending the Sanctum Sanctorum. According to marketing materials Wong survived the snap and helps a newly returned Dr Strange in the battle.

21. Black Panther

Black Panther fades away into dust in his own country Wakanda after Thanos snaps his fingers. But he comes back with all his power in the final battle of Avengers: Endgame.

22. Bucky

No longer the Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes became the White Wolf in-between Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. He doesn’t survive the snap and perishes into dust while trying to talk to his best friend Captain America.

23. Valkyrie

Valkyrie was a disgraced hero in Thor: Ragnarok, but after redeeming herself, she lived up to her name in Avengers: Endgame's final battle. She was nowhere to be seen in Avengers: Infinity War but we learn in Endgame that she survived the snap.

24. Captain Marvel

Carol Denvers aka Captain Marvel was nowhere to be seen in Avengers: Infinity War. But we can see her in Avengers: Endgame where she plays a very vital role in saving the Avengers from Thanos.

25. Shuri

Shuri was one of the surprise snap victims. She perished into dust at Wakanda. But she came back with her signature hand cannons and fought Thanos alongside her brother, T'Challa, in Endgame's final battle sequence.

26. Pepper Potts

We see Pepper Potts in the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War where she tells Tony that she needs no more surprises. She survives the snap as we see her in the beginning of Avengers: Endgame. Pepper Potts has been Tony Stark's rock since the very beginning, and she finally had the chance to use her gift from her husband to fight alongside Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame's final battle.
