Alert Disney Fans! ‘Home Alone’ and More Classics to Be Rebooted
The year seems to be a treat for all Disney fans, as after Lion King and Aladdin being rebooted, Disney is all set to bring some more of its classics back to life. For its online streaming channel of Disney+, the channel is set to revamp Home Alone, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, A Night At the Museum and more franchises.
The announcement was made by Disney CEO Bob Iger on Tuesday, and he said that these classics would be ‘re-imagined’ for the new generation. Bob said Disney was “focused on leveraging Fox’s vast library of great titles to further enrich the content mix on our DTC platforms [Disney+ and Hulu]”, in addition to the Avatar, Planet of the Apes, X-Men and Deadpool franchises.
What everyone is most excited for is the relaunch of the Home Alone series, since it has been one of the most favorite Disney classics of all times. The original film premiered in 1990, and follows Kevin McCallister’s adventures through Chicago as he is accidentally left alone by his family who have gone to Paris for their Christmas holidays. The big hit resulted in four sequels in theatres and television, and raked in more than USD 900 million at the box office.
