Black Panther is roaring at the box office globally. The first superhero film with a predominantly black cast has raked in $1 billion on the 26th day of its release. The number, according to Sky News, is based on Disney’s ticket sales figures.

The film, starring Chadwick Boseman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Lupita Amondi Nyong'o and Martin Freeman among others, has been doing phenomenal business around the world. It beat Iron Man, Thor and Captain America in the UK and earned $22.7m on the first day of its release in China.

Black Panther is the 33rd film to join the box office billion-dollar club, and the 16th Disney title to do so.

What’s more, a Black Panther 2 is very much in the offing, says Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, according to ew.com.

When asked what he could reveal about Black Panther 2, the 44-year-old: "Nothing specific to reveal, other than to say we absolutely will do that."

"One of the favourite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two. There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first Black Panther. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one," he added.
