After a world premiere on 22 April, Avengers: Endgame hit theatres in India on 26 April. The film brings to a close an 11-year-long saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has been spread over 22 films. It has been directed by the Joe and Anthony Russo and produced by Kevin Feige.

Joe Russo Talks About His Cameo in the Film

Spoilers alert! Joe Russo has spilled the beans about his character in Avengers: Endgame. He essays the role of a gay man in the film, and it will be a cameo.

“Representation is really important,” Joe Russo told Deadline. “It was important to us as we did four of these films, we wanted a gay character somewhere. We felt it was important that one of us play him, to ensure the integrity and show it is so important to the filmmakers that one of us is playing the character. It is a perfect time, because one of the things that is compelling about the Marvel Universe moving forward is its focus on diversity”, the director said.

As far as Indian theatres are concerned, midnight and post-midnight screenings of films is not a common phenomenon. However, that seems to be changing with Avengers: Endgame as the marvel film is screening 24x7 in many theatres. Shows on Saturday (second day of release) begin as early as 3 am in the morning.

Fans Excited for First Day First Show

On a bright Friday morning, Marvel fans made their way to the theatres to catch the first day first show of the much-awaited Avengers: Endgame. For most fans, getting tickets for the first weekend of the release, especially first day, was very difficult. Many even showed up dressed in their favourite superhero t-shirts.

No Post-Credit Scene in 'Avengers: Endgame'?

Marvel will reportedly break the tradition of having a post-credits scene in Avengers: Endgame by including an audio clip instead. The audio has been described to be “clanking”, which fans have speculated could allude to Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, building his suit in a throwback to 2008’s Iron Man, the film that started it all.

2.5 Million Tickets Sold in Advance in India Ahead of ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Ahead of the film, ticketing platform BookMyShow witnessed record advance ticket sales with 2.5 million tickets sold by 25 April.

It was earlier reported that one million tickets were sold in just over a day since advance booking for Avengers: Endgame opened.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the advance booking for Avengers: Endgame was “much, much better than several Hindi biggies that opened in 2018 and 2019. Eyes a record-breaking, historic start in India”.
