Veteran Tamil Actor Shanmuga Sundaram Passes Away

The actor made a mark in numerous character roles.

Veteran actor Shanmuga Sundaram, who has starred in many Tamil films and television serials, passed away on 15 August after a prolonged illness.

Shanmuga Sundaram made his acting debut in Sivaji Ganesan's 1963 classic Ratha Thilagam and went on to play numerous character roles. Some of his memorable performances include films like Karagattakaran, Kizhakku Vaasal, Chennai 28, Goa among others. The last film he acted in was Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan.

He has also worked in television serials like Annamalai, Selvi and Arasi.

Celebrities and the film fraternity took to Twitter to pay their condolences.

RIP Mr.Shanmugasundaram the character artist. He created a niche for himself, may his soul find its purpose.
