A rush of gold greeted onlookers on Day 4 of the Amazon India Couture Week, as Shilpa Shetty, looking resplendent in a golden lehenga, sashayed down the ramp for designers Rimple and Harpreet Narula. The gold is easily explained: the designers’ collection, Maharadjah & Co was inspired by Maharajas and the erstwhile royalty of India.
Designer Debarun Mukherjee’s love affair with Indian cinema was plain to see –especially when his collection was not only inspired by it, but his show also had not one, but two Bollywood showstoppers walking the ramp.
The show chronicled fashion embodied on the big screen through the decades.
Designer Reynu Tandon had actress Richa Chadda walking the ramp for her in a stunning piece from the designer’s Shabana collection.
Tandon’s collection was an ode to iconic Persian empresses. The karigari was very fine, making sure it was a delight to the discerning eye.
Richa Chadda wore a heavy red and golden lehenga that had zari and booti work. Her nose ring added extra glamour to her look.
